10 years MobiLED

A lot can change in 10 years. For instance, a hobby can grow into an international e-commerce company. From working on your own in an attic room to working in a company building with an entire MobiLED team. The product range has grown from a few LED lights to more than 3,300 different items. What happened?

On 16 February 2015, Ronald registers the sole proprietorship MobiLED with the Chamber of Commerce. He sets up the website MobiLED.nu and with a few Ikea book shelves, he sets up the attic room as a workplace. The orders start pouring in. Every afternoon, these are taken to PostNL by bike. Sometimes he has to cycle twice.
The first event where MobiLED shows its LED lighting is Tractor pulling Renswoude. Offroad Budel follows soon after. In a large party tent with banners on the fences, we welcome our customers. We also start advertising in the Agritrader, a Dutch agricultural magazine. The marketing machine starts to spin.

In 2017, the pallets with lights stand in the living room because it no longer fits upstairs. The attic room became too small and MobiLED moved to a multi-company building with a shed and a separate office. No more lunch on your own, but together with other entrepreneurs. Snug.
The warehouse is furnished with high racking and suddenly a stacker and forklift are needed. Orders are now collected by DHL. MobiLED grows and Tonny officially joins. MobiLED gp is a fact and we hire our first employees.

But the multi-company building also becomes too small. In 2019, we buy a property that is first thoroughly renovated. We have a huge warehouse and each MobiLED team member could have his own office. But that's no fun.
To better serve our Walloon customers, we translate the website into French. Behind Wallonia is another French-speaking country, from which orders are now also flowing in. Tonny arranges French classes for the MobiLED team because she can't be customer service for all of Wallonia and France on her own.
Because we directly learn from our customers what they think of our products and also have short links with manufacturers, we can easily make product improvements. This runs so well that we launch M-LED^®, our own product line that stands for marvel products at a fair price.

In 2020, we celebrated our fifth anniversary with a lively reception in our newly renovated premises. Then came Corona. We held our breath for a moment but soon it became clear that things were getting busier than ever. The MobiLED team grows. And with all kinds of Corona measures, we are running like clockwork. More products are added from new producers. We translate the website into English. This time without a language course. MobiLED becomes a ltd.

2022 and 2023 are all about working smarter. We take a close look at our internal systems and the website receives a new look with an improved the search function. Our security system is enhanced with Juf and Kato, specialised in distraction tactics. So much for working smarter.

Also in 2024, the MobiLED team of now 9 people is committed to providing our customers with the right LED lighting every day. By introducing the monthly newsletter, we keep interested parties informed about vehicle LED lighting, provide installation tips, and share customer stories. It is also now possible to buy a gift voucher online.

What has remained the same is that we deliver directly from stock. And the motto: ‘ Work with pleasure’, for us, but also for our customers.
